Ratty Returns!

Well with all that's been happening it has been a while since the last post, but we though you might be interested in these finds. Our intrepid Foundation Degree students recently carried out a survey along a local headwater stream of the River Ise and found signs of not one but two European Protected Species!

Alongside fresh otter prints and spraints, water vole footprints were found clearly outlined in fresh silt deposits on the stream side. Both of these species are protected under UK wildlife law and to find both within 10 miles of the College is a marvellous find! Water voles of course feature as the character 'Ratty' within the children's classic 'The Wind in the Willows'.
